The future of peering
The first open and free internet exchange in Lisbon
LIS-IX stands for Lisbon Internet eXchange. This IX was born in 2023 and plans to shake the IX industry in Portugal.
The role of an IXP is to provide a neutral peering LAN for Internet Service Providers, Content Delivery Networks and other entities that operate their own Autonomous Systems.
By connecting to an Internet Exchange the member is able to cut costs, and avoid the usage of internacional resources to exchange IP traffic between two ISPs in the same geographic area.
Lisbon is located at the heart of Portugal, it's where sea cables from Africa and South America land in Europe.
Achieve the best latencies by taking advantage of the best routes. Bypass London and achieve even better latencies to South America and Africa.
Connecting to LIS-IX is easy and accessible thanks to our truly open peering policy and availability accross Lisbon's datacenters. With 0 port fees, you have no excuses not to!
Remote peering is also available via select partners.
We offer you multiple monitoring features for your port, such as AS2AS traffic stats, route server filtering debug and much more.
Our team is devoted to hear the community. We want you to be involved with this project!
LIS-IX implements new revolutionary features. We're proud to present our magic blackhole service directly on the IX fabric.
LIS-IX operates high-end Arista switches to ensure your packets are delivered quickly.
Our core switches are located in a Tier-III spec datacenter. We can offer you the redundancy you need.
Route servers perform validation on all routes. With static MAC entries, we ensure your packets are only delivered to you.
